Assuming I can avoid stray paint balls and the newest neighbors at my honey hole (dirt bikes)... I should have a limit by lunch.

Rudy, I was all ready considering hitting the creek tomorrow. I fried up my last bag of fillets on Thanksgiving. Then I logged on and read your sermon. I was restringing my jiggin pole before I finished the page... I'm taking the word to the people!!!

Thanks for helping me make up my mind.

If anyone wants to feel the bite in the morning just holler. There is plenty of creek and the slabs are stacked up.

Denton Creek is an awesome place I sure wish they would have never put the gate up at that place.

Never been creek fishing before-sure wanted to a time or two, but was never sure of a good place or if it was safe to do so solo, so I guess I kinda chickened out.

Any place nearby that is relatively easy to get to and feel safe once you're there?

I've always felt safe and you will usually see some other fisherman there as well. As far as a place to put in some of the other guys here could probably give you a better idea I have not been in a couple of years. Once the gate popped up over by the Speedway we started going to the Denton Hwy area where the creek goes under the bridge.

Okay... Had to hang some X-mas lights before I could relax. Here's the report.

I met a buddy at the 377 bridge and we fished from about 0930 - 1700. We caught a bunch of fish but only 3 keepers. The bite was so light, I only felt a tap a couple times. Water was slightly stained and the creek is pretty low. There are many areas where the water is only about 6" deep, but at least its still runnin'.

Today's Tally:

Crappie 32 (1 Keeper)
Sand Bass 3 (2 Keepers)
Black Bass 2 (14-15" each)

I didn't find the big slabs today but I only fished a couple of my usual holes. My buddy didn't want to hike much today so we stayed closer to the trucks.
