Oklahoma license is required to fish the Red River except down to the first creek on the Texas side at the dam

Bamaboy is right B_rod. If you are on the Texas side, you need a Texas license. And Oklahoma side, Oklahoma license. But on parts on the river that are close to Lake Texoma, you can fish both sides of the river with a Texoma license. Nice Fish. Looks like a good time. As for the license that is needed as stated before you need a Texas license on the tTexas side down to the first creek and an Oklahoma license on the Oklahoma side. Also, if you are in the water it does not matter what side you are on you need an Oklahoma license. Also, the Lake Texoma license does not work at the river it is only good for the lake.

You are correct as far as fishing below the dam, but I think he is fishing from where the river enters the lake on the upper side, judging by his location. It may be different there. Looks like good times!

Everybody is right on the license thing. From the game warden I spoke to about a year ago...
Behind the dam, you can fish down to the creek with a TX license on the TX side, OK side with OK license. As far as being in the water, I think there's actually a midpoint out there that divides it into TX and OK. There was talk a while back of marking it with buoys or something.
Above the lake, there is a GPS point that marks the official end of Lake Texoma. I don't recall the EXACT point, but it's on the stretch up river from the lake where the river heads south for a few miles. (roughly straight west from the Annex). Downstream from that point, it's considered to be Lake Texoma and applicable rules apply (TX side with TX license, OK side with OK license, or whole thing with Texoma License). Upstream from that point, you must have an OK license, even if you're fishing from the TX bank.
No fish is too good for the grease.
