going bank fishing in a couple of hours . is it better filleted or cut up ?? thanks in advance .btw i usually catch some on wheat bread there but wanted to try something different .

I've always had better luck with cut up shad. If I'm lucky enough to get some that are about 3" long, I put the whole thing on the hook. Just try to keep it alive so it continues to swim. Good luck.

i see. thx for the tip . i dont have a net  . what i have is 3 bream i asked for about a week ago .all i did was put them in a sandwich bag and was planning to use for bait . i may not eeeven get a bite lol

I know you already made your trip but I figured its worth talking about a little more. If I have live bream I put them on live. I have caught a good assortment of fish on live bream. If its already dead I would cut it and make more baits. I have caught good cats on just the head. If you dont locate the fish or they are not biting you can keep the extras for another day. I rarely cut shad unless they are big gizzards.
