I hear ya man, I recently moved to san antonio from rockwall and had no idea about the lakes around here. I have hooked up with a guy off this forum and we are making our first trip together thi weekend. i have been keeping up with the lake lavon forum and it is killing me not to be up there on tawakoni and lavon, but i think with a few trips, i can have the same luck down here. keep on the forum and you will find a fishing partner.

You need to hit Travis and Granger for the kittys, there is plenty in both. You gotta be very careful in Granger it is VERY stumpy, plus very low right now. Good luck and welcome to Austin.

NoMinners hit that right on Granger. Very low right now. Welcome Brian and if you have any questions on Granger, just give me a pm.

Brian, I live in academy, just north of granger about 20 miles, granger is a good lake for cats and crappie. I have not fished travis just because of the drive and the traffic in austin don't know what graph you use but the 08 navionics is a good chart for the lake contour and have talked to navionics on the phone last week and the 09 plantium will have the lake in 3D for the graph! Be carefull fishing granger for the first time especially without a good graph of the lake. alot of shallow areas and stumps along with a unpredictable channel. But that is also why it is in my opinion one of the best kept secrets in central texas if not the state for consistant catfish and crappie.
