I was trying to catch game fish on Lake Granbury at my dads lake house, but have just about given up. We have been throwing out floating fish pellets and the carp love them, with at least a dozen coming up and eating when we do this. I tried yesterday but failed at catching them. Should I use a bobber since they are feeding near the surface or on the bottom? I have the area baited and plan on going out again this afternoon. Thanks for the help guys. I will try to post pics if it works out.

I'd fish on the bottom unless you can free line a pellet on a small hook while they are feeding
Bowfishing sucks

try a piece of cork cut to the size of one of the pellets and glue it to a small hook!! fish it behind a bobber so it floats in the free offerings....you'll catch em no probs.... Works great over here in the UK

Freeline some bread!
Wad a piece on the hook; leaving the tip of the hook exposed.
Make sure your drag is loose, otherwise you'll be fishing for a new rod...lol

Attract them with the floating pellets, then chum the bottom heavily with some range cubes and a can or three of sweet corn. Then fish the bottom, with sweet corn on a #6, not 6/0, circle hook. Be ready for a serious battle! Carp are very hard fighters, they can strip a crapload of drag, but they also have very soft mouths.
So even though carp fight like hybrids and reds, you can never horse them or you're going to lose the fish. It's a lot of fun, good luck!
