tracker is a good boat for the money my only advice is get the biggest boat that fits into your budget. wont be long before you will want a bigger one. i have a champion 187 with a 175 merc. it is a really nice boat but im already wanting a bigger one. good luck with whatever you choose.

I would go with the max rated hp (75)you will really wish you had more than the 25 hp in the advertisement. It will cost you more but you will not regret it.
At least my boat and truck are paid for, woo hoo!

For almost 13k I think I would look at a used fiberglass boat. You can get a pretty nice one for that kind of money and fiberglass boats ride a whole lot better. Also they will handle alot rougher water than the Tracker will. You will find with the Tracker that there will be days when you just cant go to the lake when the wind gets up a little, and here in Texas we always have wind. Just my opinion.

Gotta agree with Champion unless you fish alot of smaller lakes. If you're going to be on bigger water, the bass tracker will beat you to death and keep you wet more than you'll like. If you fish alot of lakes that don't see waves over 1-2 feet, a boat like that will be all you need for years to come. I fish alot and have fished alot of tournaments in Missouri and went 12 years with that same boat (basically). I had a 50 horse though. It ran about 30 mph. That was plenty to get me 2-10 miles to my spots. Gotta tell ya, though, it sucked watching EVERY other boat in the tourney run out of there at 70 mph.
If gas mileage while pulling matters OR you're pulling with a smaller truck (which was my case), the aluminum boats are GREAT. Also, if you drop your rig into farm lakes every now and then like I did, you can't beat um. But, you'll NEVER be comfortable fishing 3 in a boat, fishing water that's over a 1/2 mile wide, or running long distances (10 miles or more) in that boat. If none of that matters, you'll love that rig. I'd get at least a 50 hp motor AND make sure you upgrade the electronics. The extra $300 - $500 means nothing to a boat payment. That trolling motor is plenty to start. You'll probably replace it in 5 years anyways. I had the same one and it worked well.

I had an aluminum boat in San Diego and it was great. The difference is the size of the lakes, (much smaller) and the weather you have to deal with here. I looked at the extra money to upgrade the motor to a 50. It takes the price up to 16,000.00. And there is no spot on the web site to upgrade the electronics. That makes a huge difference in overall price and payments, When I finally get back in to it, I'm going to get a used fiberglass boat from a reputable dealer.

Hey John, The boat your considering is the number 1 selling aluminum boat in the world so you are doing well with your search. It is an entry level boat with advantages such as drafting shallower then most glass rigs & with a 89' beam width that will allow you to navigate with more ease through cover shallow or deep. I like the baked on painted sides & probably the biggest advantage I'm aware of in Aluminum boat feedback is the fact the dry storage remains dry over some of the other brands on the market. Because of their popularity you won't have much trouble on the resale end years down the line. If I could swing it the only real upgrade I see to your purchase would be trolling motor thrust power. I'ld kick it up a notch if my budget allowed. Shoot me any questions you may have. If you have to scratch that fiberglass itch I've got my Z-9 for sale at a very reasonable 36k.

When you pick up your Tracker , take a buddy with you thats bought a boat before. When I picked mine up at BPS it had the directional arrow broke on the trolling motor and the customer service rep checking the boat out noticed it, but let me take it home broke anyway and I didn't know any better. They fixed it when I returned it to a diferent tracker dealer but I was without a trolling motor for two weeks. Make sure you check it over well before you leave the dealership. P.M. me about other problems with tracker
I am going to buy one just to find out for myself. Half y'all lie like hell and the other half are full of chit. www.anglersprotackle.com/store, A great locally owned business www.bcfw.org Bass Club of Fort Worth

I have a 2008 tracker 175 TXW. I love the boat. I have the 50HP, and I switched the lowrance to the bow and installed a 797 SI on the console. I also installed a 65LB trolling motor. I takes Fork on 30 MPH winds, you just have to watch what you are doing.

i have an 07 txw an it is a good boat. just make sure you go ahead and upgrade the trolling motor to 24 volt and at least 70 lb thrust. it will help so much in the wind. i upgraded mine to a 70 after fishing the first 4 media tx with the 12 volt 46 lb. it comes with and wow what a difference it made. i could fish along the wind blown banks and actually fish instead of standing on the motor all day plus the batereies last much longer because you are not on high staying on the pedal all day. but if you really want to get a bigger boat later i suggest getting a cheaper fiberglass now and then after you have figured out what and how you like fishing to move up to the boat you want. the resale and trade in value stinks on these boats. i know because it is time for me to move up and i am having a hard time selling this boat.

I know a few folks who have them and for the most part have been happy with them. They do have a few complaints about a few things but overall they are happy with them.
With that being said I would strongly urge you to check out the used boat market, it is better than ever especially with the economy the way it is. There are deals to be had out there.
I was in your same shoes and thinking about a new aluminum, then I checked out the money I would spend and applied it to the fiberglass boat I know have. Fiberglass is the way to go, no regrets here.
