I have a 1987 skeeter Starfire that the GELCOAT is getting pretty bad. I have tried a reconditioning kit but it was a pretty short term solution and way to much work for how long it lasted. Has anyone tried just painting after the gel coat wears off? I have had a couple of people tell me that's the best way to go. I'm looking around to try and find the best solution other than buy a new boat.
