Thumpmeister1: What is this place called? Sounds like it could be worth looking into.

Mike, what park do you fish at on granger? I havent tried that lake yet but I hear its great for crappie but I don't know if thats a boater thing mainly or if they can be caught from shore.

The only park I have fished at Granger is Wilson Fox. I had mixed results, fishing for cats, on the bottom. Lots of small channels, and few 2-3lb.

Sounds good. I have had pretty good luck out of Georgtown Lake, although lately I have been fishing the Blue Hole.

Let me know when you are heading out there.

If you want bigger cats I have a few places for them but we'll have to put our time in fishing. 10am-10pm. 12hr fishing.

Well, the Blue Hole is completely dead, and has been for about a week. Can't get even a bit there.

Had great success at lake Georgetown this morning though, at Cedar Breaks park. Lots of very good bites. Caught 4 nice channel cats and missed a bunch of bites.

Caught the channels on J Piggs and Secret 7. I also had some cut bait out there, but had zero luck with it.

Although I live considerably further from Austin than 60 miles I had to answer the question "What do you fish for?"
With all the specialization in fishing today I begin to wonder if we have not taken some of the fun out of the sport. To some peoples thinking you cannot go bass fishing with out 13 specialized rigs for each kind of lure or presentation you are going to make. You surely cannot go carp fishing unless you have a tent for shelter a bundle of Euro rods and reels, imported boillies (boiled dough balls), you cant go crappie fishing with out 27 rods hanging off the boat, drift net, 400 different kinds of jigs, and a high technology fish finder to spot the condos.

So what do I like to fish for? I generally put on a night crawler and fish for what ever will bite.

It ain't what they call you, it's what you answer to.... W.C.Fields

I was just out there today and took some pics. Overlook from Cedar Breaks Point looks like a cliff droping straight down just feet off the bank (deep).
