I'm curious if the bite is still on in Port A or Corpus. I may come down and fish the jetties or surf again. I'd appreciate any recent fishing stories.

i went down last weekend, i only got to fish for about 4 or 5 hours but i didn't have any luck on the jetty. it was when the front had blown in and the channel was the roughest i have seen so i fished the surf side.

I appreciate that info. It may save me a trip down there. we're expecting another front to come through Austin Friday morning. Not sure how that may affect the fishing there.

I was there yesterday buying a boat. We ran from rockport to Port A and back, talked to several fishermen and watched some fish landed. Lots of trout and some reds, all along the edges of the ICW.

Thanks for the info. sounds like a boat or a kayak may be the way to go? What kind of boat did you buy? I've been thinking of buying a bay boat, but am not crazy about making monthly payments.

I bought a "vintage" Mako. A 1974 20' with a 1993 Yamaha 115 on it. It is not super fast but it gets up on top and moves pretty good. We took it outside and it handled a light swell with a nasty chop just fine. Spent today working on lights and horn and installing my gps. Wish me luck.

Sweet! Good luck indeed! Look forward to hear how you do when you get her on the fish.
