quantum is comming out with a new tour edition reel. for starter it is about 3 ounces lighter and features a new carbon fiber handle which a lot of tour pros do with any reel because it reduces alot of weight. for all the other specs check out http://www.quantumfishing.com/prod_control/prodselector.htm

Hopefully they cast better than the old ones and they start posting the correct drag strength

other than an annoying buzz (that went away with use), my Energy PT is far and away my furthest and easiest casting reel.
I'm almost shocked how good it is compared to my Revo S's, Revo Inshore, 51 mg, Chornarch 101A, and Citica D's.
None are even close. No other reel I own throws as far with as little effort from me on the thumbing (51 mg is closest).
The drag power issue I agree with, but the Energy's drag is very smooth, which is more important to me than total strength. I seldom use more than 15 lb test mono anyway, with a drag setting of 3-4 pounds if I "lock" it down. I can see the drag being more of an issue for you since you tend to mention fishing for redfish.
I just jumped on one of the $100 Tour Edition PT's that Cabelas has on closeout.

I wonder how long they will service their tour and energy reels in the future. I have three E600 reels that are messed up and you can't get parts for them anymore. The reels were about five years old when I found this out. Don't buy products from companys that won't service their previous models. Quantum can take a LEAP.

Just bought a Quantum Code at the pawn shop for $30. Looks like new, and it's my first Quantum. Haven't tried it out yet, but for that money, I don't know how I could go too wrong.

Can't get parts for a five year old reel? Sounds like planned obsolescence to me and that sucks. Suck you in and then cut you off at the feet. Another reason to stick with Shimano products.
