I was feeling a bit down and missing my dad today so I went out for some alone time fishing and well I managed to do okay. I am still new at this cat-fishing business but I am getting by with a little help from my friends. Lance, Paul, Tiny, and S. Davies thanks for the verbal and posted tips, they work and so do frozen shad heads.

I got out and spied me a few areas and was able to find some fish on the third one. I managed about 20 cats on frozen shad.

I got slimed and I am hooked...

Man you are on the dark side now. It won't be long before stinkbait stevens shows up.

Oh I also got a mess of sandies on a 3/4 ounce Sandlicker topped with a SandJ., Spanish Fly... Bad to the bone bait and as illegal as moonshine, thank God the warden was not out, that slab is so hot it makes the water boil and it hypnotizes fish like a snake does a barr rock chick.

I ran out of shad and I found a clump of sandies to tie me over till dark.

7 casts 12 keeper sand bass...

Are you fishing on LL? Should be picking up some nice fish out there with the colder weather soon. Nice job. Can't wait to get out to Lavon or LL very soon in the next few weeks and do some drifting.

Folks I do not mean to be a snob and really if you wnat to know where I got them just PM me and I will tell you. Like that I will know who I told. Too many lurkers, I have been burned too many times on locations in some cases I have had folks fish a place I fished for a week stright and then no more sandies or crappie for a while. So it is not that I am being smart or a clown, it is just thst some folks will take advantage and fish a place out in no time.

Nice work Mando. Looks like your getting the hang of it. I've had good and bad days on frozen shad. I really don't know the reason. Looks like you had a good day. I know I have hell finding fresh shad when it gets really cold. My castnetting abilities leave a lot to be desired. Did you buy them or were they prepaired yourself?
