I will be in Odessa this sunday through wednesday watching regional golf and tennis. I will have some free time in amungst "work" and was wondering if their are any good bank fishing places in this area. I'd like to get some crappie, whites or LMB's (not real particular). I was thinkin of trying Moss Creek Lake in Big Spring. Me and my Grandad used to fish it all the time, but would like some other options. Thanks.

I am not sure what the stocking schedule is but Comanchie Trails Park in Odessa is a pretty good place to fish. There is also a small lake at Comanchie Trails Park in Big Spring. The next closest lake would be JB Thomas near Snyder.

Can not help you much. That is one of the main reasons I do not live in that area anymore. To far too travel to get to a place to wet a hook.

Southbound, Moss Creek Lake here in Big Spring is full of Water and looking good, only problem is there is no fish in it, about 2 years ago it got the Golden Algea (thanks to CRMWD pumping the Golden Algea water from Spence to Moss Creek and then on to Colorado City) But they are in the business of water not fishing, as I was told! The Golden Algea is gone now and they have started restocking it with catfish, but it will be several years before its back...........
Our little city lake Comanhee Trail) here in big Spring produces pretty well, caught an 11.2 bass out of there in Spring of '03, lots of catfish and bass to be caught and fairly easy to bank fish from........hope this helps.........MARK

jmark, I appreciate the tips. I've fished the comanche trails park several times about 12 years ago. haven't been to Big Spring in years since my grandparents moved off. I hate to hear that about Moss Creek Lake. I have some great memories from there.
