Just got the new Garmin Nuvi 500 which is waterproof and runs in either driving or boating mode and has a replaceable lithium battery. Been Happy with it so far.

My opinion and several others I have asked. Garmin is better than Tom Tom because of ease of use. I have the Garmin Nuvi 750 and love it. There are new Garmins now that do the same as it for a much better price.

I have had a TomTom since Spring and it continues to amaze me. It was only $150.00 and it works well. I would buy a Garmin if I had it to do over again. They seem to be easier to operate.
