I have thrown all of my favorites in this pond and had no luck. When I put a minnow on my kids pole she brings in a nice SMB..? Why wont my lures work in this pond? Weightless, Texas Rig, Jigs, nothing works. Fish jumping all over and only a minnow can get'em. Whats the deal. This pond is so close to home I would love to figure it out...

Does that pond take alot of fishing pressure? If so the fish may be able to tell that it is a lure and not a minnow or some other type of food. Have you tried attractant on you lures and jigs, I would give that a try. Sorry I can't help more. Also what pond is it?

It is right off of McCoy just south of George Bush. It gets fished but not a hole lot... I dont think.

Hey Bill!
You might try downsizing on your lures, etc. Especially on the 2 ponds furtherest from McCoy. The pond next to McCoy gets the most pressure. Try something about the size and color of the minnows that are catching fish. I don't slay em myself but the smaller baits seem to work best for me. Just an idea.....
Good luck!

SMB??? Wicked...I've always used tubes for smallies, and dunno why it wouldn't work in this case. If not, then the Berkley Gulp! minnows should definitely get 'em.

I will try some of these things. I have seen the fish roll in the third pond all around me. My daughter caught the smallie in the first one. I have seen schools of blue gill in the first one also.

In just about any pond in Carrollton you can use Watermelon Red Flake Tiki Sticks and cath fish. These are made by Wave Worm. I have been fishing Carrollton since i was a kid and since i got into bass fishing these have never let me down. As jrp said down size. I have not fished those ponds in years, early 90's was the last time. It is good to hear that there are fish there. I will have to make a stop out there.
