It seems that the crappie on lake Travis are moving back into their winter mode. The Christmas tunes have started playing and the crappie fishing is about to get good agian. Anyone else excited?

Been catching em on a winter pattern up here in N Texas for about a month now, but still waiting for the definitive winter pattern--them moving up into the creeks and becoming catchable in 3 ft of water or less in the warmest parts of the day, in the dead of winter! Won't happen till after first frost or Last week of November, whichever comes first.

I caught 4 keepers (10-11) inchers today in about 2 hours. I can't wait until the chunky big boys start moving in.

Oh the stories I've heard about you and big, chunky, boys.

I'll be hitting up Sam Rayburn tomorrow morning hopefully. I caught 8 or 9 Crappie about 2 weeks back and haven't had a chance to get back out there so we'll see how it goes.
