i've been working on filling my box with my that i tied, they are starting to look pretty good... but this past sunday i had my first hit on a fly i tied the electric dread, i was stoked even though the tippet was slided by the smack's teeth.
but im so stoked!
just wanted to share my excitement...

wow.... usually if i see a typo i know exactly what was meant, but i really had no clue... slided / sliced... heh

Congrats! I too have been working on perfecting my flies, and I know exactly what you mean. It feels so good to catch that first fish on a fly that you tied... Keep at it!

i have made my own ice fishing rods from glass blanks spacificly for bluegillin with 1# line and theirs nothin like gettin some nice hand size bulls gills with them and theres nothin like catching fish on things you create! like your own flies!

So you are saying that you built one weight fly rods from ice fishing blanks? How cool is that! I'm a big light tackle fanatic for small, skinny water so have a one and an ought weight.
