OK,
lets restart the discussion here. My vote was for bassbuster/trolling motor setup. A big plus is also the stability. You can easily stand up in one.
Kelly, I also use a small jon boat with trolling motor alot in E. Texas, one my fatherinlaw got. he got the trolling motor, jonboat,and trailer from a guy out there, for around $300 bucks. Its real small, (LHD saw it once) and narrow. I'm a snowboarder, so I have alot of experience balancing on narrow things, so for me its no problem standing on it. Heck I even stand on my canoe when fishing regularly. But yeah, the point is, like LHD said in the other thread, it is real nice to fish from something you can stand in. So if you get a jon boat, make sure you get good wide one. But yeah, they make great setups too.
OK guys, remember the "Lets get Kelkay a boat fund." ?!?!
Who's up for starting that drive again? Or is it still going on?

i'm in, also if anyone sees a nice used boat & trailer, post something about here so someone can check it out, theres boats sitting in backyards waiting for someone to offer a few $$ for it.

Doing a little research, it seems that a decent used bass buster setup, with trolling motor and trailer, should not cost more than $500. We if we want to do this, guys, this is probably a good target to shoot at, within the $400 - $500 range, I suppose.

How much has been raised? nothing officially that I know of. OK let me propose a plan. In order to avoid any awkwardness, I suggest folks PM me any pledges they might have. I can get a total, and if it seems that it might amount enough to getting her something, we will move forward with this, and make it happen, working out the details and logistics outside this thread (PMs, phone calls, etc) But if it doesn't come to fruition, I'll just personally reply to each person and tell them it fell short, and we can drop the topic. Does that sound reasonable?
