Ok.....I always tow my boat with the transom saver, but when Storing in the garage I take it off and put the motor down for the extra room. By storing it with the transom saver off, and the motor down am I putting too much stress on the transom? I always thought the only thing the transom saver did was keep the motor from bouncing while in trasnport. Please give me your opinions!

i do that, too, take the transom saver off and trim the motor to "level" with the surface of my driveway while the boat sits for a week or two. no extra stress on the transom, i would think. plus it keeps the fluids in the engine on a "level" plane, that's what my mechanic told me.

i leave my saver on, unless there is a freeze warning. then i lower it all the down to get the water out of the housing.

can't see where leaving it off will hurt anything. if a transom isn't strong enough to hold the engine, without a saver while in storage, i wouldn't want that boat!

I would not want a boat that couldn't hold up the motor either, but I also don't want mine to get to that point. A friend of mine was arguing with me saying it would harm my transom to store it that way and I just wanted to confirm with others, that I was ok by storing this way. Thanks for the input guys!!

Is there any benefit to taking the pressure off the T&T pump over the winter by lowering the motor down to the ground??

Do`nt think storing up or down will have any effect on the transom.

T&Ts are under pressure when down but I am not sure if that is just the fill reservoir or the whole system. I am with the others. If the transom cannot hold the weight then I do not want the boat. Mine has always stayed on.
