My uncle-in-law recently bought his son a jon boat and the guy never uses it. I hit him up and borrowed it the other day. Floats like a charm so Im gonna take it out a lot more in the future- its been registered before as i see the numbers on the side of the boat but they are expired. What do I need to do to the boat so that i dont get a ticket out on the water?? Registration a must? And also what about night fishing-do I need all the lights like a regular boat?

Dont know about Texas, but I assume it's the same as in Louisiana.
It needs to be registered here and you must keep the registration papers in the boat while on the water.

Lights: Yes. A bow and stern light are both required at night. You need to be able to run only the stern light while anchored, both while under way.

Now, Donald...please pick John Bolton for your running mate.

And please use your stern light at night, whole anchored.

I hate that sound when I run over a jon boat at 40 MPH on the way back to ramp at night ! rolfmao
