I am looking for a good spinning reel for a good price. Im primarily going to be dropshotting and fishing shaky heads with it any Suggestions?

What price range are you considering?

I saw Shimano Symmetrys on sale at Academy yesterday. They are a pretty good spinning reel. They were about $60.

Cabelas' Prodigy spinning reel is a very good deal. Great in the bang for bucks department. These reels are manufactured by Daiwa, and again are of excellent value.

Shimano's NEW Symetre are $99.99 are of good value as well.

If you are going for $100.00 or less the Daiwa Exceler isa very nice. For just a few more dollars you can also get the Daiwa TD Advantage spinning reel which rivals the high end reels. Daiwa makes excellent spinning reels and I tend to stay in the 2500 size range for all around use. Thanks

I own a "Pflueger President" spinning rod, for the money it's a great reel, I think I paid $60/$70 for the combo at Academy.

No problems with it-

Not sure if you are near a Dicks Sporting Goods or not but I picked up a Quantum Inferno there a couple weeks ago(Its made just for Dicks I think) for about $35 -- normally about $100--seems alot like a quantum Energy. I dont care for Quantums baitcasters but their spinning reels are good.

I love the Quantum Kinetic PTIa-the smoothest spinning reel I've ever used. Got one @ BP for $85, then found them on eBay-got 2 more for $39 each.
