Im looking for a new C-Rig rod and i was thinking about getting one of the 7-9 Extra Heavy Carrot Sticks. THey have 2 models though one is the boyd duckett series which is 100 dollars more than the other one and i dont know really what the difference is. is the BD one worth the extra money. Also if you guys feel there is a better Extra Heavy rod on the market let me know.

Love the carrot stix rods, The only thing that I can tell between the regular ones and the Boyd Duckett, as the removable weights on the "Duckett" Model, you can add weights to the Carrot Stix original, but its a little less convenient. To me not worth the extra money. But I love mine!!!

So, stick that in your pipe and smoke it!

B4 this entire thread goes to waste I will say that I love my carrot stix! I have the med, med/heavy and the ex-heavy. I used the ex-heavy for such as c-rigs and froggin. I noticed my forearm and wrists don't feel the strain and fatigue after along trip. They are Great rods!

Since we are on a thread that Carrot Stix owners might look at....where can I get mine replaced close to where I live? I broke it on a hook set and need to find a retailer close to me....can't find one.
Before I get a comment about "take it back where you bought it" I got mine from the tournament at Lewisville about a month or so ago.

Got mine from the BTT also and have been using it for Carolina rigged plastics and I think it's great for that use. Haven't tried it with any other lures yet. Strong rod with sensitive tip. Have you tried their website for a local dealer for your repair?
You guys know everything..... I'm just an idiot....no problem........

I have a 7` XH for pitching a jig, and a 7`2" M CRankster. I love them both.

I like the sensitivity and lightness on my 6'9" med/hvy. It feels like it is spongy but the blank reacts well and has more power than I expected.
The grip material is a little soft. When I have a fish on the material compresses to the point that the reel seat edge pushes into my hand where I am holding it.
I would buy another one.
As for other brands to look at it depends on the price range you are comfortable with. Cabela's has there T7 Falcons on sale and I have always felt good about Falcons for a Caralina rig rod. Additionally, look at Powell rods as they are well made, sensitive and a good value for your money.

I have almost everyone they make and love them all. They are very, very sensitive and light. I havehad a hard time fishing with any other rods since I switch to Carrot Stix because of how light they are. Anything else after a Carrot Stix feels like a broom stick. The no questions asked replacement is awesome to say the least. To each there own!

I like mine, I bought a Cara T7 MH with the split grip and thought it was light, but after purchasing the 6'9" Carrot there is absolutely no contest. I can feel the slightest bite and my arm never gets fatigued. Also to note that there warranty is awesome so to answer someone elses post you can cut out the center that has the rods information on it and send it back to e21 with $30 and they will send you another one and if you want to try a different rod just tell them the model number, but just to be sure visit there website and contact customer service I would hate to pass along information that wasn't correct.

Love my carrot stixs. They are by far the best rod I have ever used. They are extremely sensitive and very very light. I have notices that my shoulders don't hurt after a full day of fishing like they used to. I didn't expect that but an very happy with it. The tip is very fast on both the 6'9" MH and the 7'6" Heavy that I use, I had to adjust my hookset as I was breaking the line when I first started using them.
The difference between the 2 models is the eyelets and the reel seat and they weight system. The only problem I have is the grip when it gets wet. I would prefer them to have cork instead of the foam stuff.
