Tim, don't you know by now that when you find something like this out that you don't talk about it, cause talking about it will definately jinx it. Sorry guys, the forcast now is SSW15+. I mean, after all, it is a CAT tournament...why wouldn't the wind blow noidea

Martin,

A lot of times, the mornings can start out at "1 mph", then "mixing" (as we call it in the weather biz) by late morning helps bring down stronger winds above an surface "inversion"(or lid) as they say to bring the winds up without necessarily having any gradient of pressure at the surface of the earth(confused yet? great!). It does look like some "return" flow this weekend ahead of our next barn burner cold front late Sun/or Sun night(depending on which model you believe).

By the way, someone showed me at my first CAT meeting this past week different folks...one was you (wearing the TU shirt I believe...LOL). I give the 'Horns credit though, they are a VERY GOOD team this year!

LEFTOUT,

I find it amusing every time someone says "weather people are NEVER right". It's amazing how when we hit a forecast, you hear NOTHING, but the first time you miss something, the cows come out of the barn to bark about it. It's only the negative folks harp on and it's always good by me. Hey, I do get PAID for it as folks say, but it's not always the "big bucks" like the head T.V weather folks make I can tell ya that.

Like I always say, if anyone thinks they can come in and do a better job, by all means, please feel free!

I'm not angry at all, just think it's funny how basic folks make it out to be. In that case, I guess I could be a banker, cop, lawyer, doctor, so on and so on, as some of these folks screw up too, but they still get "paid" as they say.

Ha ha...have a nice day all. Good luck to you CC tourney folks this weekend.

Heh heh... it's true, the weather guys seem to get beat up. And often, you guys are right. But come on, very often you guys put out such specific info as:

Partly cloudy = Is there one cloud in the sky? We were right.

Partly sunny skies = Love this one... did the sun shine at all? We were right...

Chance of rain/snow at some percentage, i.e. 70% = Did it rain? Yes - that was the 70% part, we were right. No? That was the 30% chance part, so we were still right...

But all joking aside, the weather predictions these days are pretty good. The key is getting the latest data. Week-old forecasts aren't worth much - check the data a day or two prior to the fishing trip and it's not bad at all.

I checked the report on wunderground for the temps and wind speeds for yesterday afternoon. I pulled the report on Monday. It said the temp drop in my zip code was to hit 59F at about 4:00. Guess what, exactly right. And it called the winds picking up like they did too.

Take a kid fishing!
