My console unit is going out and I need to get a new unit. I currently have a Humminbird 565 up front on the trolling motor which I like a lot but I want to get some opinions before replacing the console unit. I saw Garmin has a cheap color unit for $200 but it didn't impress me just by looking at it. Any suggestions or advice appreciated!

I have the 320 on my trolling motor. I can find the brush on it as good as I can with my big color graph. And if you go with it and upgrade down the road you can always put that one on the tm.

The 480 will be just under $200, and is the highest resolution you can buy for that price. The 320 will be a little less, but I'd go with the 480, hands down.

I think either will do. Both are great units.

Well it looks unanimous. Now I know what to ask for this Christmas. Thanks for all the feedback - its nice being able to get opinions from the people who know best.

I have the 320...like the others said...never had a problem finding brush. I'm hoping Santee Clause will bring me a 480 for Christmas, so I can mount my 320 on the TM.
