Hey if anyone wants some of the best cajune seafood of their life, eat at "The Gumbo Factory" Jason Duhon the owner is an amazing cook and the food is great and not over priced!. Family owned and operated, I think his 15yr old son washes the dishes!! So if you are fishing on the coast, or need a new place to eat, hit it up. Try the Budan Cakes! Tex
Romo please if you read this, can you step it up? My cowboys need another title. Oh and Kenseth if you happen to read this, open a can of man and start winning some races...if you need to borrow a can of man I got extra! That will be all.

The Bakery Cafe is hard to beat in A.P. It's on Commercial across the street from the HEB parking lot.

Bakery Cafe and Buttterboard (sic) I would rather pass on, the best place to eat in AP is up the road in Rockport, Las Comales.

I stopped in AP at the whataburger on the way to Port Aransas this last trip and the quality was fenominal.

tay away from Las Comales, ate there This past Saturday and lets just say that their food will enable you to karp through a straw. Drive over to Port Aransas and hit either Fins, Moby Dicks, the Big Kahuna OR THE Crazy Cajun.

I've been very disappointed in the quality of the seafood down there. Several days ago, I decided to give Corey's Seafood Market and Restaurant a try. This is a dinky little place right next to the HEB gasoline pumps in Aransas Pass. The fried shrimp is about the best I've had anywhere, a good cut above Charlotte Plummer's, Crab N, and Alice Fay's. They were huge. I questioned the waitress, and she confirmed they were locally wild-caught, the same as they sell in the market section. The place is plain and simple, with a worn concrete floor. You can bring in your own beer, though, and I saw several people do so.

I went to Corey's one time, there was only one waitress. She said it would be a little while before she got to us. About an hour and a half later, she finally took our order. There was only a couple of people in the restaurant, 4 tables at the most. then another hour to get our food. The worst service I ever had
However, the gumbo was the best I have had at Port A. The food was def worth the wait but was way over priced.
I would much rather stop at whataburger than try some of the local eateries.
The best place I have been was the Big Kahuna. The best redfish I have ever had.

Yeah, they are definitely understaffed. I was there Friday--got there at 5:45 to beat the crowd-- and saw one waitress trying to serve 20 people. Weekdays, I haven't encountered any delays. Don't know that I agree about the prices: $8 for the 4 fried shrimp plate and $13 for the 8. That's reasonable, and they're so large that not many people can comfortably put down 8. I had the flounder, and can't recommend it over the fried shrimp. Same for the grilled snapper.
