Bass Pro Shops® News Releases
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Bass Pro Shops Coming to San Antonio
December 17, 2004

San Antonio, Texas (December 17, 2004) - Bass Pro Shops, America's most popular outdoor store, has announced they have agreed to open a Bass Pro Shops Outdoor World superstore in San Antonio, Texas at the intersection of I-10 and Loop 1604. The store will be located directly across from Six Flags Over Texas and will be the anchor for The Rim, a 700-acre mixed use development. The store is tentatively scheduled to open late 2005 or early 2006.

"The new Bass Pro location, their fourth and largest store in Texas, will boost San Antonio's tourism industry and the entire economy," commented Texas Governor Rick Perry. "Combined with the Riverwalk, the Alamo and other area attractions, this new Bass Pro shop will help seal San Antonio's reputation as a leading tourist destination not just in the state, but the entire nation."

The 200,000 square foot mega outdoor store will also feature a 12,000 square foot outdoor themed restaurant. The store and restaurant will be a part of one of the most inviting lifestyle communities to be found in the country. Developed by Georgia based Thomas Enterprises, Inc., The Rim will also include urban plazas, courtyards and parks to serve the unique retail, office and residential needs of the community.

"We are very happy to be bringing our fourth store to the great state of Texas. We look forward to becoming a part of the San Antonio community and this unique lifestyle development," stated Bass Pro Shops President Jim Hagale. "This store will be dedicated to the families and visitors who enjoy the many outdoor traditions this area has to offer."

"My family and I are very excited about Bass Pro Shops coming to San Antonio. This is tremendous news for all the sportsmen in this area of Texas," commented NASCAR driver Wally Dalenbach. "I have spent a lot of time shopping in their catalogs and now I can spend that time right here in our very own San Antonio store."

Bass Pro Shops unique, award-winning, mega size outdoor stores are known for combining retail with entertainment, conservation and outdoor education. Their destination retail stores across America attract over 75 million people annually.

"We are proud to have our project, The Rim, be a part of bringing Bass Pro Shops to San Antonio. Their presence in the Rim will allow the project to draw from regions of Texas that we wouldn't reach without them," said Stan Thomas, Chairman and CEO Thomas Enterprises, Inc.

More than just a fishing and hunting store, Bass Pro Shops will also offer equipment and clothing for hiking, backpacking, wildlife viewing, camping, outdoor cooking and more. A gift and nature center will also serve up a wide variety of outdoor-related items from lamps and dishes to bird feeders and furniture.

An expansive boat showroom will feature Tracker, Nitro and Tahoe boats built by Tracker Marine Group -the world's largest manufacturer of fishing boats.

Bass Pro Shops unique exterior and interior motifs have branded them as visually appealing, high quality outdoor stores. The outdoor feel is brought indoors through massive log and rock work, large indoor aquariums and water features stocked with native fish species, as well as an extensive collection of museum quality fish and wildlife mounts. Historic photos and exhibits will pay tribute to the area's great outdoor heritage.

Known for their great customer service and associates who love the outdoors, Bass Pro Shops is expected to hire approximately 300 passionate outdoor enthusiasts from the area. Employment information is available in the career opportunity's section of www.basspro.com .

It should be nice being able to go after a certain item and carry it home instead of having to order it and wait till after the weekend before you get it.

Just one more cast!
