I dont understand why some people feel it is their place to tell someone how many fish they should keep, since he was under the limit. Personally I catch and release, but thats only because I hate fish, I love to catch them though. If someone wants some fish, then I will keep a few, but I dont need some a$$hole telling me that I can or can't.

I have to agree. Opinions are like a$$holes. Everyone has one, some stink worse than others  . No laws broken, satisfied customers, I just don't get it.  Take your arguments to the TPWD and tell them how to do their job and how much smarter you are than they are  . It's starting to sound like a PETA website here  . Let the man make a living and put food on his familys table  .  Why don't we tell him what chruch to attend, if we will allow that, what truck to drive, where to buy his gas, what route to take to work, where to send his kids to school, what crook to put into office, where, when, and how to fish and what bait to use, paper or plastic, to be or not to be?........sorry  .......

The only problem is if you wash down those fish filets with "Non Sanctioned Light Beer"
I don't see any other problem besides cleaning all those fish. Man that is a job to do. Besides that, who cares! If everything is with the law, then no problems. Some people don't have the luxury of owning a boat, so some people give fish away. I don't think this gentleman is doing any harm to the catfish population. Catch and release straight to the grease.

The only thing that can get this forum more riled than C-P-R is politics. Check out the mudslinging on the -Off Topic- threads. Me thinks more of you folks ought to be out fishin' rather than criticizin' and politickin'. IMHO.

And as stated above, I seem to remember reading that catfish are underfished if anything. There for a while, they were considering allowing bowfishing of catfish. Not sure about you, but that puts them in the carp category for population
lol I have been having problems catching carp for the 2008 ocbc. Emma is not producing and not many fish are being caught

I caught two carp in my cast net trying to get bait Monday morning. Both would go 4 lbs a piece. I thought I had a world record shad.

carp/buff fillets are very good bait
regards albertking catfishing is now an industry ... it's best for the industry to eat baby catfish

Thats about an hours cleaning work for most catfish guides like Weldon Kirk, and just part of the job.

i always like to stock up with fish for the year, which means I go fishing 4 or 5 times ayear, but with gas prices the way they were I went twice. so I kept everything I could within the law I cant see why there is any negativty towards 2 many fillets
call it what you will...he is not definitely not anywhere near the top of the list for QB's that I would choose needing a FG or touchdown drive late in the game.

Why do people need to start in on this guy for keeping a legal limit of catfish? My math tells me he had enough anglers to support the total number. When was the last time some guys were harassed for keeping 25 crappie each, or 25 sand bass? Sure they can't eat them all themselves at one sitting, but very legal. This is due to careful monitoring by the TPWD of the effects on fish populations due to regulation and fishing pressure. I just to see a fisherman get harrassed when they didn't do anything wrong - morally or legally. Now he'll probably be hesitant to post on here again a good catch of catfish.
