Sometimes, I look back on some of my solo trips and can't help but wish I had a customer with me to share the wealth. This was one of those trips.

My gameplan was to do spend the day dialing in my bite for upcoming striper trips and take advantage of being on the leading edge of one of the first fronts since Ike.

Let's get started, shall we?

As I begin the paddle to my spot, I can't help but notice Mother Natures introduction to another beautiful day on the Brazos River -

Along my way, I stop at one of my favorite runs for a cast or two with a light tackle setup on 6# gear. I score quickly, on the first cast laugh . After a good tussle with my opponent, I find myself slipping my hand under one of the ugliest channel cats I can recall  -

I quickly CPR my "Ugly Betty" and continue the journey.

Next, I net some big "primo baits" for my assault. I am now, locked and loaded  .

Upon arrival, I set up and deploy the first bait on a freeline. I turn to get another bait deployed, but before I can reach for another rod, I hear the commotion behind me that sounds alot like a big fish slapping a bait around on top. I turn around in time to see the take down as the striper explodes on my helpless bait. I wind down to a fish that immediatley begins taking decent drag in short bursts, in between violent surface headshakes.

After a respectable battle, I have my first striper of the day to CPR -

I quickly deploy another bait, and again it gets destroyed on top by a marauding striper -

The bite continues -

Now it's getting rediculous!!! However, so am I  , and it continues -

By now, it's afternoon and I've fired off several phone calls to some of my last minute "fill in customers" to come partake of the stellar bite I'm on. However, neither of them can make it .

So, I continue my solo onslaught -

By now, I've tallied 22 stripers and my arms are burning and hands are cramping. What a workout!

I contemplate calling it a day and begin to deal with the thoughts of leaving a wide open bite. However, as I paddle to the takeout, it's consoling to know the pattern will be holding, and I begin to look forward to upcoming guide trips. I can already see the smiling faces laugh 8) .

Stripers anyone? wink

Wow. looks like you had a blast. What is up with the stripes on those things. I only saw one striper that had all it's stripes intact.

I sent you a Pm about your pictures being to big. I did change 2 for you but I do not have time to resize all your pics. Very nice fish. we had complaints that some people could not view because your pics were 1080 X 800. Below is the best size.

when you say upper Brazo? Is that below the dam at PK?

If I'm lucky I'll die with a 7' spinning rod in my hand.
