I took the top cover off of my Motorguide Trolling Motor this weekend to fix a problem with the direction indicator, and noticed that the wire connections had been getting very hot. The connector insulators were almost melted through and the wires were melted together.

I fixed the connections, but thought I would let people know that this could be an issue. It looked like the connection was coroded, which was causing it to get hot.

Might want to take the top cover off and check it...
