You place small magnets inside your sideplate. When you cast it will cause a magnetic field to build and slow down your spool so not to cause a backlash. A lot of long distance caster are using this method to get really long cast. We put a adjustable plate in the reel and adjust as we are casting.. You won't need to mag a 6/0....Just use the tension knob..

6/0's can be magged. Using the tension knob on the side is a constant brake that limits a cast to a very short distance. But, a 6/0 with magnets is not going to make it or you a great caster. Learn to back cast a 6/0 with the thumb as a brake, then put some magnets in, and practice, practice, practice. Magging a 6/0Did I mention practice?
