Want to try some one handed spey casting. Any hints to try for starters? Got a creek that it would be just the ticket for. Over grown and lot's of snakes. Waiting for cooler weather.
On another note got my Sage 6wt Fli from Cabela's. Don't think it's the fast action they say but it is just right. Have cast big hair bugs with it for bass down to #14's trying to catch Tilapia. What a nice rod to use. A little pricey for me but saved a bunch and supported the dismal economy with my purchase. Terry R

Yeah, get this dvd.

I have it and am starting to really enjoy single-hand spey casting.

BTW- What length is your rod? I also have a Sage FLI 5 wt and I really love it as well. With any kind of spey casting, the longer the rod the better.

Thanks I'll try it. I bought a 9' 6wt 4 piece. What a nice rod. I think this will take over as my primary rod.

This is the only one I have so not a lot of experience. This one is great, though. As I said it works with heavy hair bugs and small flies. I have a tendency to get sloppy with my casts when pond fishing and this rod even handles poor technique.
