I like to take a horse Head Jig or Wild Eye and have every one in the boat make a long cast out the back of the boat.

I then pull the baits very slowly through the fish with the trolling motor.Slow is the key here and sometimes you have to pull into the wind to get slow enough. Every one needs to hold there rod because the bite is lite.

Those of you who guide this is a great way to get non casting customers on some fish. They can just let the jig out behind the boat and hold on.

Move along folks nothing to see here. woot

Same goes for Hubbard. During the winter I usually fish White Rock Lake, since the water is heated wink

I like the lake in the winter...not as many folks that act silly!
But the bite is slower and moving you bait very slowly with longer pauses, you will catch the fish!!! Following birds is a good way to find fish. Good luck and tight lines! Lake RC

I've been chasing Hybrids for many years and Winter is by far my favorite time to catch them. Watch for the birds and throw a swimbait.

It is way too cold to fish in the winter. My suggestion is to stay home by the fireplace.

Couple years ago I remember watching or at least seeing part of a show that Earnest (in the crappie section) did. He was fishing docks at night with light tackle and catching BIG hybrids. Hopefully he'll see this and chime in to this one. He was probably at that Cedar Creek lake that had no fish in it...

So if I remember right, it's not all about fishing the big water at a slow pace.
