I recently picked up bass fishing at Grapevine over the summer and love it - it reminds me of old times with Grandpa catching trout in the gulf. I fish from the bank for LMB and some sandies when I can, so I don't have a lot of experience. My younger brother hasn't fished since those old times, so I wanted to treat him to a day of fishing at a lake with a guided service.
Looking at some of the guided trips on the TFF, I'm considering a few options: Stripers on Texoma, Reds on Fairfield, or LMB on Lake Fork. Can anyone offer advice on making a decision of these? Thinks to consider would be which has the highest probablity of loading the boat with fish, which are the most fun to catch, etc. Keeping the fish would be a plus, but we'd be willing to sacrifice that for more fun.

If you just want to do a lot of "Catchin'", the Whites and Hybrids on Richland Chambers are hard to beat! Most days we keep our limits on Whites (25 per Fisherman) and have some action on the Hybrids. Fall is AWESOME! Customers limited this AM with 75 Whites and 2 Hybrids up to 6 lbs. Caught and Released another 75 fish. Check us out at www.gonefishin.biz. The "Package Special" of a Trip for Two, Overnite in a Cabin and Lunch at the Marina for $299 might be of interest. Stripers on Texoma. Use Dan Barnett for your guide. He is excellent and will put you on fish for sure, he's never let me down.
You guys know everything..... I'm just an idiot....no problem........

I say go with the one that offers the most action. Good Luck II say call Royce at RC or give me a ring here on CC and we will catch some of these or a mess of sandies too: We will fish with jigs only and we can catch them shooting docks.

So many good references, but I went with Jackie at Fairfield for some reds. I thought my brother would enjoy some hard fighting action, and that's exactly what we got.
Jackie had us on the reds as soon as we anchored down, we caught 20+ keepers, a couple cats, and 5-6 rat reds. 5 or so of the keeper reds were 30"+ and we had a good number of doubles.
I'm excited to try some of the other recommended guided trips as well - stripers, whites, largemouths. They're all game for me!

That's a great report considering the huge fish kill at the lake recently.

From those parameters I'd probably say Texoma with JD or Dan, because of the loading the boat, most fun to catch, and keeping fish. All depends on what you want the most though. Jackie will definitely show you a great time at Fairfield. All can be hit or miss, because fishing is fishing, but I would say the odds of having an off day this time of year are probably going to be highest on Fork for LMB.
