Most of you probably know me from my reports posted after kayak trips and kayak tournaments. This is a PB report - my first at that.

I recently purchased my first boat and this was her maiden voyage in salt h2o. Despite what others have said with regards to this boat, she handled like a dream. We spent close to 10 hours on the water - running all over the place, and she used a whole 10 gallons of gas. This boat couldnt fit my needs any better. If anyone has been keeping any eye on one, give me a holler and Ill fill ya in on the details. Yes, she is shorter than a T160, but somewhat faster. 8) Here are a few pics

It had been over a month since I have been able to make a cast into salt h2o. I had waited long enough so I gave my two best fishing buds a ring and we planned a trip for Saturday.

Enough of the small talk We launched at one of the two open boat ramps in the general Galveston Bay complex looking for a topwater bite at first light.

There were a few scattered Trout to be found

The bite really was not all that great but we did manage a few fish. Its hard to complain about not catching anything considering the present state of the Galveston area. We were exploring some new water, so a haul really was not expected. It was nice to be on the water with two good buddies fishing and having a great time doing just that.

We cruised around a bit looking at some of the damage Ike left behind. The Eagle Point area was hit pretty hard.

At the end of this video you will hear me talk about a green house that is no longer there. That was my buddys old fish camp. Nothing left but the slab. Amazing.

After a small lunch on the water, we pulled the boat out and drove to ramp #2 that happens to be in working order. There were quite a few trailers in the parking lot so I didnt feel so bad about taking the new boat to an area I had never fished. The debris really wasnt all that bad at either spot. There were a few random floating pieces of wood, but nothing like I had expected. It was very helpful having two additional sets of eyes on the lookout though.

We couldnt find any Redfish to save our lives but got into a few more Trout right off the bat.

That actually was quite a surprise, as we were fishing water less than a foot deep in most places.

We did find a decent Flounder (20) that found his way in the cooler only to be fed to some lucky individual at a later time.

We kept a little ole Trout (21) that swallowed a Gulp as well.

I hope others were able to get out and spend a little time on the water as well. Tight lines

Looks like she will get very shallow. How's the price?
