What is the going rate for manual labor for someone to work on a outboard motor 150 johnson? How hard is it to replace a vro pump and what price range will/should i be looking at?
thanks for any advice.

Best thing to do would call around to shops local to you and find out what their rates are. I was in a shop today that had a sign with labor rates of $90 hr. Parts are parts so the cost for them shouldn't vary much from shop to shop.

Not that difficult to change the pump and depending on year model, the later models have electronics that plug in making them more expensive. Option is to have a new diaphram installed in your pump for around 160.00 verses 325.00 to 450.00 for a new pump installed. Good luck

Not sure what year model your motor is but I have a 94 johnson 150 fast strike and I talked to alot of mechanics about the VRO. And just about everyone of them told me to disconnect the VRO and mix the oil and gas. Just alittle piece of mind knowing your motor is getting oil.
