A group of us are putting together a group trip to Baccarac at the end of Dec. A couple of cancellations have occurred so there are now 2 seats available for the trip.

We will leave from Phoenix via charter air service on 12/30and will return to Phoenix on 1/4.

If anyone is interested in filling one or both of those seats, contact me for details. Either post here, send PM or e-mail:

Put 'em together, at=@

If interested a firm commitment is required in the next 2 - 3 weeks. After that the seats will be released back to the outfitter so that he can fill them from outside the group.

Did I mention that the fishing is GREAT?

Where is Baccarac? Thought that was a card game.

Mexico! Can't believe you haven't heard about it. It has been one of the hottest bass fishing lakes anywhere for the past several years. Lots of quantity and lots of big fish.

Baccarac is my opinion is the best Lake in the World...Look at these photos http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com/photo_gallery.htm

Question C...If you guys are from Plano you should be taking the direct Dallas charter .... no need to fly to Phx to catch the charter....

Also I notice that Terry Hollan( the owner ) is offering a super discount on the dates you mentioned....something like %30 off http://www.lakebaccaraclodge.com/specials.htm

Mike:

We booked our trip and made deposits very early in the year; before the Dallas Charter came into existence.

Same comment about the discount - didn't exist when we booked our trip!

Also gotta wonder what effect Renee Salazar's passing had on Lake Baccarac Lodge operations.

We're booked into Big Bass Lodge this time. It was completely renovated within the last year or so and is now on a par with Lake Baccarac Lodge. It was also (at the time) significantly less cost than Lake Baccarac Lodge.

We've never taken the El Paso charter, mainly because the point man in our group had some concerns about that particular charter service. Plus, our outfitter is Pro Bass Adventures (Doug King) in Tempe, Arizona and he uses West Wind charter service out of Tempe.

I know Terry Hollan operates the Westwind Charter and also owns and operates planes out of Dallas and El Paso.... You could have saved the hassle of flying out to Phx and taken planes directly out of Ft Worth ,,,,The charters out of Dallas operated all last season ..I took them several times,,,,You need to talk your point man he must be a getting kick back from the Pro Bass guy..seems like he is putting you thru a little extra hassle and cost that could have been avoided
I have been to Big Bass ....not in the same class.....It sure is hard to find pictures of the Big Bass place ....makes you wonder why

Renee Salazar passed away? What are the details if possible?

People go to Big Bass Lodge because of Felipe Valdez. I can tell you why there are not alot of pictures of BBL, Felipe does not beat the bush for clients. The same people have been going there for years. There are only a few agents for Felipe that I am aware of.

I think Terry is cutting back on Agents also. The profit margin is not what it used to be with raising costs.

I heard that Renee was killed in an altercation away from the lodge. No real details on what happened, but I know he left behind a couple of kids and a wife.

We are headed down on Dec 7th thru the 12th. When we booked our trip I was not even aware that there was another lodge on the lake. I looked and could not even find any info on another place. BBL contacted me a couple of weeks ago and sent me some pics of the place and it looks nice. C. I will try to give a report when we get back. I heard that the lake is almost full from all of the rains. It should be great fishing this year. I am very excited to get down there.

Yup!

I did a little research and found some info on another forum. Seems Renee was murdered. Bad deal. Never heard a bad thing about Renee. I am sure he will be missed.
