I'm here in Nacogdoches bracing myself for Ike's wrath. The weather channel says that it has strengthened. Who else on here is in the path of the storm?

Be safe Darrell. Look out for that north wind! We've got come-alongs wrapped around all our outdoor cabinets and furniture!

The winds are picking up; the lights are flickering every 20 minutes or so but, are still shining more than they aren't.
Winds are forecasted to be at a sustained 82 mph for my zip code overnight. Also not a drop of rain yet but, all that's supposed to change in a hurry shortly.

Bryan-College Station is near the predicted path of Ike. It's midnight and just a little wind so far but the rains are coming!

Nine AM, strong north winds and rain here on the south shore of Richland/Chambers, waves crashing against my north facing bulkhead. Things starting to get kinda nasty. Yesterday evening while tying things down on the boathouse notice a school of Sandies feeding in front, I wonder if they know whats coming.
I'm worried mostly about the wind. So far this year I had a large oak tree crash into my house (last spring) and just a few weeks ago my neighbor in a small wind storm lost a large tree limb in his back yard and it killed one of his two dogs. this is a strange year.
I'm from the Houston area and really feel for the people there!!! It's got to be tough.

Does anybody have any reports from the Beaumount area? I have a neice & her family that have evacuated & arrived at our place in Lubbock yesterday morning, but they are very concerned. We have ben watching the weather channel & it looks like lots of high water in Beaumont. Any first hand news would be appreaciated.
A bad day on the lake is much better than a good day at work!

My grandparents came up from San Leon (about 5 miles north of Texas City) and are staying with us. They live in a singlewide trailer. We're still waiting to see and/or hear how bad it is by their place.
The seawall looks like it took a pretty good beating. A lot of the boulders that were at the base of the wall are now in the middle of Seawall Blvd.
