A buddy of mine and I went fishin with John Leighton at Texoma today.

It started out pretty ugly with rain the whole drive up there, but by the time we got there, the rain had stopped. It was overcast all morning, and we got into the sandbass and striper REAL good. We ended up filleting 55 sandies (real pigs too), and 13 striper.

Almost all were caught on Pop-R's on top water, and the action was furious.

My first day on Texoma, and I'll sure be going back.

Thanks John!

Not trying to rain on such a positve post but sounds like you two were over the limit on those sandies. Other than that, glad you had a good day.

there were three of us. we probably threw back 10 or so to make sure we were amply under, so we could keep fishin.

I have to buy on of those clicker do-dads.

At one point in time, we had to stop fishin and put 18 of them in the cooler to make room to walk around.

We probably had 5 triples over the course of the day (all 3 of us with a fish on at the same time).

John was using a light/medium weight spinning real, so the sound of striper taking out line was frequent.

Great day on the water.
