Your guest will get the ticket and your boat wil be thoroughly checked.
I'd rather be fishing.

I think if you are a guide you can be fined.

Thanks guys. I have a couple friends who are giving me a hard time about insisting they get a license. They are not avid fisherman but want me to take them fishing on occasion(2-3 times a year). I just want to be sure I am not at risk for having these Suckers onboard.

In my opinion, everyone within the legal age limit that goes fishing should have a license even if it is just to go once or twice a year. That is the rule on my boat. In part, the oney that they are spending is going back to the resource that they are enjoying. Pay up. Besides that, I'm sure that theticket that they will get would be worth five or six fishing licenses.
I'd rather be fishing.

I would call 1800-game thief on them as soon as they caught there first fish. They are robbing us all of funds for our sport if they do not buy a licence.
Probably not but I sure would want to.

Tell them to just buy the temp/day fishing license for the day they want to go fishing. They'll likely end up paying more in the long run, though.

A fishing license is cheap. If they do not want to buy a license, take them fishing in one of your state parks. No license required if the lake is surrounded by park or if they are fishing from the bank. Otherwise, although you would not receive a ticket, I think you are MORALY responsible and should insist that they do buy a license.
