I am used to fishing around POC with live baits. The new GULP artificials intrique me and I would like to try them on trout next time. I usually fish using an inline shaker with the live. My question is will this still work in the same manner and how would I hook the GULPs. I bought the new penny 4" shrimp and the b/s mullets. I noticed earlier someone stated thread the shrimp as dead but i was thinking on the shrimp hooking under the "horn" as live and threading the mullet as a freshwater worm. Any help is appreciated. Thanks! Cool site! I'm new here!

I just got back from POC yesterday. I used the Gulp shrimp tails on jig heads. I fished a pier using the 1/8oz heads and hooking the shrimptails as you would on any jig. Cast it out and reel it in fairly slow. I caught numerous trout, some whiting, a croaker, and I even got several large hardheads with the bait. I also hooked a large drum with it and lost it to a broken line.
We then went offshore and I used it at the first rigs. I put on a heavier 1/2oz jig head and caught several nice fish. I caught some grouper, some snapper, numerous triggerfish, and some hard tails.
I normally fish the Galveston bay system. And, there I use it the same way and catch a lot of trout and reds with them. I like the 3 inch size the best, with the 1/8oz jig head and new penny in color. There I've also had good luck using a 1/16oz jig under a popping cork. I love GULP!

Wow that's awesome - I fish Gulp in freshwater and I haven't been much impressed, so I am glad to hear that at least the saltwater version appears to be producing up to their claims of fish-catching ability. Probably pick some up next time I go down.

Got back from POC a couple of weeks ago. I could not believe the amount of strikes I recieved on the gulp. We caught reds, trout, gafftop, and even a couple of shark on it. I love it!

We were using the 3" and 4" Shrimp. Colors were the new penny, white, and molting. Haven't tried the crab or any others yet.
