Caught another today. 2 or 3 pounds, but saw very large bass breaching the surface in areas I dont go without a partner.
I was bored, and pissed that I didnt land the job I wanted, so my fat arse fished through the rain.

I dont have a problem sharing, I just wish others would share alike. It seems some people here are going to act like children, instead of adults, and I suppose thats fine. I gotta be honest its seems like kids in a sand box with Tonka trucks. As for the trashing and whatnot, its the risk you take when the forum you join is in its simplest form, about sharing. Sharing data, locations, techniques, etc. To be honest, I was just trying to find some other areas to fish so that I dont overfish this little pond, and to make it known for others. Seems the first goal has been an unmitigated failure, but I guess I have succeeded in letting others know about my spot. What a trade!

I fish an old stock tank by my house. I photograph snakes and ran across it about four years ago. The land was sold to developers about six years ago and nothing has been done yet. The pond is loaded with big Bream and Bass along with Yellow Bullheads. It is always a fun day to fish there. My kids have named it "Slaughter House Pond"! There is an old barn that they assume cows were sluaghtered in. There is also a beaver that comes out at dusk. I have managed to photograph a Diamond Back Water Snake, Cottonmouth, Copperhead, Speckled King Snake, Gray Rat Snake, Rough Green Snake and several Garter & Ribbon Snakes from this area.

my 1st honey hole is in mesquite off of gus thomason (not sure on the spelling on that} but it is or was a 9 hole golf course it has 2 ponds on it. it is located just behind north mesquite high school. I have not caught no super size fish out of them biggest being maybe 3 pounds but I have gone and fished for 2 hours and catch fish on ever cast tho most are dinks, but it is right around the corner from where I work so it is easy access for me. my other one is right behind my house, I have kept a few bass I have caught here and there and I have rigged me up a aerater {again bad spelling} in a tub so a few big ones I have caught biggest being just over 8 pounds in the pond behind me. I go fish it 2 times a month and do not catch alot but when I do it sure is FUN!!

it is like shooting yourself in the foot (sharing honey holes) eventually your spot will no longer be fished due to others using it . ive seen it happen enough happening live from people witnessing me catch ..so best bet is to stay low about this type of information . the fish usually like certain bank areas so its best to keep hush hush ,i spend alot of time looking for a good hole and dont want to give it up to just everyone that will read a post .it dont seem fair to me

OK, so your favorite spot has been trashed. Its a tragedy, I know. So you take a garbage bag with you, as I do right now. If its your hot spot, treat it as such.
Also, while other fisherman are doing the trashing, who's to say it was a member of this forum? I'd like to think that folks here who complain about trashing a hole, would be the last ones to do it. There's no stopping the casual fisherman who sees someone else catching fish, or the passerby. It doesnt mean we, as members of this forum, cant share spots. Arent we supposed to have some sort of camaraderie? Isnt this board essentially about sharing to begin with?
As for trashy people, understand, there were trashy folks before whatever LLELA was banned, and there will be trashy folks after.

While I understand reluctance to share "every" special spot I also agree that the purpose of this forum and other similar communities is built on the foundation of comradery, good intentions, and the desire to share ideas and interests.
The reminder to make a conscious effort to clean up after others who have treated mother earth poorly is a very good point and worth bringing out.
My most recent catch this week is the result of others sharing a pond spot local to me that I never knew existed though it is right in my neighborhood.
There are members here that have gone so far as to relocate catches from other more populous places in order to improve its longetivity.
It could also use a little TLC so that it does not fall into decline by picking up what others have left behind which based on the post above I will make a point to do.

well my daddy taught me a long time ago to leave it like you found it and only leave your foot prints and nothing else! anyone that leaves there trash behind well I will not go there, I have in the past and will in the future pick up others trash. I do not like it no more than the next guy but if we do not clena it up then it will get worse and next thing you know your honey hole is taken away from you so plz guys and gals pick up after yourselfs, it's the right thing to do.

The idea was maybe to put together a so called 'network' of fishing holes that we as TFF members could share. Its not asking for every single honey hole, share one. Multiple people do it, then we've got spots TFF Bank Fisherman can hit, they can try something new. A person can only eat so many green M&Ms before throws his hands in the air and demands a red one.
Here's another public fishing spot:
In Carrollton just north of Luna Rd and Beltline Rd. There's a 10+ acre pond thats loaded with Channel Catfish and various gar. I'm sure there are others, but thats all I've personally seen. You can park very close to it, and it can be traversed 360*. One can easily get a small pond skipper/jonboat in and out without any trouble.

Is that right there under the Bush? I have been meaning to stop someday, and now that the afternoons are cooler looks like a good time to spend the lunch hour doing a little cathing!

The Frankford and Voss ponds are the closest ponds to my house. Fishing for bass mostly, nothing huge in there, but the fish are healthy and bite frequently.
What's the word on the country lakes off of Marsh and Carriage? For aforementioned lakes, copy and paste this address into browser. http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&channel=s&hl=en&q=carriage+lane+carrollton+texas&ie=UTF8&ll=32.963667,-96.858838&spn=0.008516,0.013819&z=16&iwloc=addr

Burned by other TFF members?
Or burned by the common fisherman who could care less?
Or is this just greed camouflaged as care?
Again, this forum is at its very roots, about sharing.
