Thinking of getting into it just to try it out. I am wondering if there is a local shop I can buy the supplies?

There is actually a section for it in the general equipment thread. I'm not sure if there is anything as far as making plastics but I didnt read every one. Heres a link.

I have always wanted to try it but never have. Barlows tackle carries supplies.

I started dabbling with this before I got deployed. I was just melting my old plastics and creating my own molds but unless you have lots of time I suggest just buying molds of the baits you like to use. When I get home I will pick it back up but I will be buy a few metal molds and jugs of Plastisol. I will definitely continue to melt down my old plastics because it is eco friendly. I also think it is cool mix colors and different ingredients to the plastic.

I make my own stick baits. Bought everything online. I like it because I can make just about any color and can adjust the fall rate by the amount of salt added. I have caught alot more fish on my stick baits than any store bought ones.

I have been pouring my own worms for quite a few years. It is great fun and easy to get started. Barlow's has a starter kit or you can get one from many other online source. One thing to avoid is the NetCraft injector's they have caused a lot of problems.
Good luck it is an addiction not a hobby
