If i may make some suggestions to your 'kit". I-Nova 24/7 light. Works great as a distress marker, and a backup flashlight. http://www.inovalight.com/247.htmlSurefire G2 in yellow. 60 lumens of powerful light. DO NOT BUY FROM SUREFIRE DIRECT http://www.surefire.com/maxexp/main/co_disp/displ/prrfnbr/878/sesent/00Maxpedition Volta. This will allow you to store the CR123 batteries that the lights above use, as well as AAs. It keeps the batteries seperate for safety and functional reasons. http://www.maxpedition.com/store/pc/viewPrd.asp?idproduct=581550 paracord. This stuff can be found at almost any Army/Navy store worth its weight in poo. As with all the items mentioned thuis far, you can find it at a Gunshow. They make military support bracelets, made of paracord. This does two thing, it shows your support for the soldiers, but it also can be unravelled for 50ft of emergency paracord. And finally, I reccomend a Camelback. Camelbacks have come a long way, and they arent just hydration bladders. The are now medium and fullsized backpacks with a 3 liter hydration bladder inside them. Using these, you can easily carry water, gatorade, some grub, survival/emergency stuff, and your lures comfortably. I know because I using one right now!

Sounds good to me.. but I am almost always alone on my long ventures. People are lazy these days.
Calling fishing a hobby is like calling brain surgery a job.

One other piece of equipment that I will use if I know I will be climbing up and down steep or muddy creek banks: 15 feet of rope strong enough to support your weight. Tie one end to a strong tree and use it to help go up and down the bank.

We snag too much to use ultra light.. tried it.. lost too much line.
We have rope tied to our stringers.. I think it is 12' or so.. and yes we have used it t get up the bank!
My fishing buddy uses the camel pack.... I think it looks like a catheter.. ha..especially with yellow gatorade!
Some guy fishing next to us on Sunday sat on a snake.. he said it was attacking his fish on his stringer right next to him!.. man... he came off that rock in a hurry!

I found out if you use a Fanny Bag you can carry 3or4 boxes of gear in it I also carry a butt pack I got from the army store .....Now they have a basket that has a long neck like thing you tie to the tree or whatever you want to use that works better than a olde stringer .....

this is the type of fishing my son and i do 90% of the time. we really enjoy it, even though it can be very hard work. my son has developed a real sense and respect for nature. he once told me... "dad do you hear that?" and i said "no", he replied, "isnt it beautiful"..... that is like catching a 10# bass!

You have never seen the bag I carry ....It was made by Eagle Claw has a BIG pocket in front with 2 small pockets on both sides plus a very small pocket in the front that I carry my stringer & needle noses in I found that the bag is very handy that way I don't have to worry bout getting hung up in low branches or worry bout having to pick it up every time I want to move down the bank ...This is great for bank fishing when you have to carry a tackle box ,2-3 rods, a cooler chest you & a stool to sit on with this bag ALL I have to carry is my rods , my stringer of fish my stool is in the BAG like the chair I left at camp ... My advise to you is don't knock til you try it.......

I am sure it works fine.. just not my thing. I don't care for vests either.... and there are many a fly fisherpeople using those.
I have been thinking about a stool though...
