I bought a Tracker 1648 Grizzly back in June. Its been sitting in my garage for a while. I've started working on it now. I replaced the bunks and lights on the trailer. I bolted on a swing away tongue. I bought a 1981 40HP Merc. Now I'm in the process of building decks. Thought you guys might like to have a look. I'll post more pics as I git 'er dun. This was the day I brought her home. Before I cut off the tongue The previous owner put in a spray in bed line on fron deck and back seat. Too bad I won't be using it at all... Gotta replace a fender and I will be putting on new LED lights and wires. It fits in the garage, but no room for the 40HP Merc, hence the need for the swing away tongue. And of course still have to have room for the wife's car... I gotta take some more pics of the most recent adds I've done tonight. I'll try and get them up soon. Hope you like!

The first step was to work on the trailer. I needed to replace the 3.5 ft bunks with 7 foot bunks to take the weight off of the front roller. I didn't want to have to call the neighbors everytime I had to lift this 355 lb boat, so I ran steel cables up through the ceiling into the attic. I went around a 2x4 and put that across 2 rafters. So the weight of the boat would be spread across 4 different rafters. So each rafter would have even less weight on it than me (6'4" 235 lbs) standing up there. Then I used ratcheting ties downs from my truck to lift the boat slowly. I pulled the trailer out, replaced the bunks, wires, and lights, and wheeled it back in when I was done. Cables The amazing floating boat The old bunks The new bunks And it fits like a glove

My next step was to give myself enough room in the garage to put the whole boat in there and still be able to shut the door with the motor mounted = swing away tongue. Thanks to my bud PaulGrapevine, we got that done in one night. Then within a couple weeks, I bought the 1981 40 HP Merc from him and built a stand to put it on. I wanted to be able to work on the motor without having to pull out the whole boat everytime to work on it. So this way I can do the carb rebuild, lower unit fluid flush, and whatever else needs to be done without having to move the boat everytime. The stand plans are located here: http://forums.iboats.com/showthread.php?t=266570 Swing away tongue Motor on stand

Word of advice........... Spend the extra DOLLAR for Treated wood! Even if it is going to be stored in the garage.
