Try jetties or rock piles. Any structure close to deep water are sure to hold them. Chartruse or Firetiger crankbaits work well.

I have tried the jetties at south padre island and it seems as if the place is burnt out from being overfished.anywhere else that may produce these tasty fish other than the jetties? in about 3 months I will have my boat ready then i will go back to my fishing hole that produced good amount of mangrove snappers.thanks for all your helpful insight

White Sands rents boats. Anywhere around the old causeway, or the new causeway usually holds good numbers...
