We are planning a Coletto Creek trip in a few weeks..never fished there..have heard good reports for a while. I see from earlier posts that there was a question about the boat ramp...is it OK now...We have a 16 ft. Skeeter SS90..We will mainly fish for bass and catfish.. ...Any info would be greatly appreciated.. Thanks, Skeeter9095 Father of a fishing addicted 13yr old son

As far as the boat ramp goes, you will have no problem. It is a short ramp and not steep at all. You will have to enter through the GBRA gate and pay their fee. Here is a link to the web site - http://www.gbra.com/?datapage=ccr.asp Have fun, it is a nice lake. I haven't been since January, so I cannot give you a report.
If people focused on important issues, there would be a shortage of fishing poles. My son-in-law proudly serves

Went today. I usually go at least once a week. the water is low. The ramp is fine. DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING FOR GRANTED. I've fished there for 16 years now and I'm finding stumps and shallow water that I didn't know was there. When you come out of the ramp cove, straight on you will see "The big Island". Directly beyond that is a point. Give that sucker a wide berth. The water is 1 foot deep and it is full of stuumps, bad stumps. To the immediate left is the "new Island" and in the far left corner is the "little Island". Fishing is fair around these islands and I usually set my jug lines between "big" and "little" and catch a mess of catfish while I'm bass fishing. If you go up Coleto Creek (to the right) you will pass the hot water discharge on on the left and come to a bridge. Beyond that bridge you should be very carefull and after the first bend beyond that bridge you should excercise extreme caution until you get an idea of where the stumps are. Around that bend on the right is a large cove with a big Island in the middle of it. That is "The eagles nest" and there is or use to be one there. When the lake level was normal and there was Hydrilla in there the fishing was great. I haven't been in there since the water's been down. I can't say, watch for stumps, enough.
If you go to the left, Perdido Creek, again stick to the middle of the lake and try to find a place out of the wind. There is a subdivision around there so watch for kids on jet skis, etc.
Weekdays are best cause there's no crowd. On the weekends the lake gets very crowded. I went out on March 18 and it took me two hours to get my boat out of the water.
They also just had a Bassmasters tourn there on the 25th, I think, so the fish are probably still in shock if you can find them.
