I took my father in law out to Eagle Mountain this morning/afternoon. We probably spent 4 hours out on the lake and between us managed to catch 2 sandies and one LM Bass. Not a great hall. We tried for more (obviously) but nothing seemed to work for us. I noted that the water temperature was 86oF in the main body of the lake as was over 90oF in some of the inlets we were fishing. We had a lot of fun ... but the raw temp, lack of wind and high humidity made for an early return.

The bite has been pretty slow. I'm at West Bay Marina and I see a lot of dock fishing and talk to a few of the guys coming off the water and they've said the same thing. A few weeks ago they were pulling up bass from the Marina with shad rattle-traps but nothing is really working right now. My g/f caught a sand bass with a small white rattle-trap w/ red hooks & eyes but no other bites between her or myself the rest of the evening.
