I have a 91 150hp Johnson Fast Strike. It is still a great motor but I would like to repaint (touchup) the cover. Herin lies the problem. Nowhere can I find that year listed with a dark metallic charcoal color. Everything I find lists as white.
The OMC lists this dark color. Any help is appreciated. I'm just not sure if that is right. Thanks!

Take the boat to an paint supply store like English Color or Finish Master. They can match the paint off the exhaust housing as long as it isn't faded or oxidized. You will have to be skilled with using a paint gun since it isn't a rattle can type paint, but it is a MUCH better quality paint. A pint of PPG's DCC mixed. You will also need the reducer to go with it.

Block the Cowling with 320 grit, primer it, block it again with 320, and shoot 4-6 light coats. Check for thin spots with a lamp or flashlight.

O'reilly's has a spectro analyzer. they can also mix the paint for ya. might be a bit cheaper??
I get the acrylic enamel with hardner and reducer. tough stuff!
just another option.
