Has anyone got any good starting places to chase sandies or hybrids on Bardwell? I have to be in Red Oak Sunday and was going to shoot down close to Bardwell that evening. I haven't seen any reports lately.

Last trip we got into the sandies along the old roadbed north of the bridge and found the hybrids on the east side of the lake by the concrete intake thingie (technical term!) halfway between the dam and bridge. We tied off to the bouy and flung a slabs agianst the concrete and let them hit the bottom.

Thanks a bunch. I'll give those areas a try.

Went thursday evening and found some whites north of the bridge, they surfaced a few times and then I just casted a slab around and found them. I did not have any luck by the water intake but it was kind of windy right there. Good Luck

We have caught both sandies and hybrids along the east side between the north end of the love park picnic area, working over toward the inlet. About 2 months ago I hit a 3# and 2 5# hybrids over there. I have yet to fish the road bed to speak of but hear it can be good. Good luck! Oh, beware the catfish....I have caught catfish out there trolling with crankbait, tossing cranks, spinners, broken minnows....and worms. They find me no matter what I do.

My wife is always mad at me, so I figured I might as well give her a reason.....I bought a boat.
