Brian,

We ALL were asked for input from the original post. I don't understand why you are taking Tracy to the woodshed. He was simply responding to the question. His opinion is his own and he has every right to it if asked. If the board does not want it aired in public, then don't ask in public. BTW, nominations are 'supposed' to be sent to a board member via private email. He may have done this as far as I know and maybe not. I know he attends many of the meetings and is likely well away of the rules. Anyway, it is superfluous to his response.

Your friend,

Very well put put UJC.

These are opinions, and were asked for in a public venue. That is what will make this club better.

While some tend to voice opposite veiws on somethings, it is still something that obviously they felt strongly enough to vent this in a public manner with an identity. It was not done anonomously.

This is for collecting data and making CAT stronger than ever. Lets let everyone have a voice in this unconditionally.

Here is a question for the board members. What can I do (or any member) to make this a better club?

How I little I truly knew.
Keep moving and fish the water column top down. How to use jigs how helpful everyone is.
The members and thier willness to share. Not only tips on how fish but the lesson in code breaking. LOL
I wish we could have all had some input on the lake fork change.next iwould make sure that when draw tourneys happen that no two guides get paired together. And if you are non-boater a flat fee should be agreed upon and the is what you will be expected to pay period. If you stiff a boater you should be dealt with in private by the board.
I think the draw tourneys are important to the mission of the group to help all improve. I think that we should assign each member a chip yellow for non boaters red for boaters and green for the best crappie slayers(based upon last years points. Green s are drawn first and then the reds. This would assure us a shot to fish with a excellent fisherman. If a green wanted to goes as a non boater he just can't be paired with a green.
RR/RC/lewisville-LaLaLaLavon To cold what challenge.

I just had a thought about my problem making it to meetings(the usually working thing), but had an idea for those who live a decent distance from Carrollton, TX.

How bout we "ride-share" when possible? Though gas prices are down, they're still high IMO. I'd be more than happy to take some folks from the N-W Fort Worth To Denton side in my Honda Pilot, then someone else could do the next run, then so on, and so on. As my location says, I'm in Keller...so not hard to figure out. Just find a common meeting place at a parking lot somewhere.

Folks in other parts of the Metro(or beyond) could do the same.

This way, the ride there/home won't be so lonely. *sniff*(j/k)

I AGREE WITH ALL OF YOU. NOT TRYING TO STIR THINGS BUT MAYBE A NONBOATER REPRESENTATIVE WOULD BE A GOOD THING. NONBOATERS NEED TO KNOW UP FRONT, WHAT IS OR IS NOT EXPECTED OF THEM BEFOREHAND AND NOT THE DAY OF..
I LIKE THE DRAW TOURNAMENTS THE BEST. TO SOME DEGREE DRAW TOURNAMENTS EVENS THE PLAYIN FIELD SOME WHAT. I'LL SIGN UP TO BE A NONBOATER BUT ALSO AS A BOATER IF NEEDED..I JUST DON'T HAVE THE KNOWLEDGE OR CONFIDENCE TO HAVE SOMEONE DEPENDING ON ME TO FIND FISH...BUT I HAVE LEARNED A LOT AND SHOULD BE THERE SOON..( MAYBE AFTER JERRY AND PAUL SCHOOL ME A BIT MORE..)
I WOULD LIKE TO SEE MORE FISH FRYS TO GET TO KNOW EVERY ONE MORE AND SLOW DOWN A BIT.
HOPEFULLY I CAN MAKE "MILWOOD" THIS YEAR AND HANG OUT FOR A FEW DAYS..THAT WOULD GOOD..
ANYWAY THERE AS ALWAYS A LOT OF OPINIONS AND IDEAS OUT THERE. MAYBE A PM TO A BOARD MEMBER THAT COULD COLLECT IDEAS THAT COULD BE VOTED ON OR DISCUSSED AT THE MEETINGS.(WONDER IF THAT WOULD GET OUT OF HAND?) splat
OTHER LAKES WOULD BE GOOD TOO . EVERYONE HAS A HOME OR FAVORITE LAKE BUT GETTING TO LAKES AWAY FROM DALLAS WOULD POSSIBLY MAKE THE EVEN PLAYIN FIELD ALSO, BUT AT THE COST OF HIGH TRAVEL EXPENSES AND MAYBE LESS ANGLERS..
I DON'T HAVE THE ANSWERS BUT MAYBE TOGETHER WE CAN FIGURE THEM OUT..HEY WHAT CHANGED ON THE DRAW TOURNAMENT DID I MISS SOMETHING OR JUST FORGET AGAIN?? noidea

I also like James007's response about some people having the ole mud stick in the ______(put in your own choice of words here) when it comes to things with the club or other fishermen in general. Over-sensitivity or folks trying to show others up, for whatever reason, etc, etc...

Let's all get along. TFF and CAT are great things for our sport. I'm on no pedestal here, just sayin'. Have a great evening all.

I also understand all the "non-boater" concerns when fishing with someone with a boat, be it a tourney or not. I'm more than happy to pay whatever that particular person believes is fair. Never fished a tourney yet, but looking forward to my first one. Love competition.

Your friend,

Jimmy I wasn't trying to take him to the woodshed. I guess i was more blunt than i should have been. I was just saying shoot, get someone to give him a nom.

So if i was out of line than i apologize. Like i said this is supposed to be fun.

Did you learn anything? Yes, I'm a better fisherman since the club was formed.

What was the most important thing that you learned? Tournament fishing is tough. I still need to develop a winning tournament plan and have the confidence to stay with it. Dale and I have won two "Fish Taco's" (thanks Scott) but came up short with short fish.

What did you like the most about the club? The sharing information between club members at the meetings, at the lake and at the tournaments.

What did you dislike the most about the club (if anything)? The likes out weigh the dislikes. The board has done an outstanding job getting the club started and going in the right direction.

What would you change for next year if you were making the decisions? Have tournaments start at safe light.

What was your favorite tournament lake? Least favorite. Richland Chambers, Cedar Creek and/or Tawakoni (fear of the unknown)

For all of you that didn't like Lavon. remember that the heaviest weight of the year came from that mudhole cheers 13.08#'s is a good weight anywhere other than LOP and Millwood.
Any lake in Fabruary is gonna stink.
If we had one there in May, 12#'s would be a norm and everyone would weigh fish.
It was cold and the fishing was tough but it wasn't the lakes fault rolfmao

I'd love to fish some lakes that no one knows.
I also think a bunch of us should make the trip to Livingston in march for Ron Conaster's big spring fling banana Fishing is good, and the company is even better. We need to grow this club throughout the state and what better way than go fish with folks from another club and show support to anglers that made that 225 mile drive up here to fish ours.

Thanks guy's for the responses. This was not intended to become a finger pointing session and all members input/opinions are valuable to the board. Some may be followed, some may not but unless we hear them we will be operating in the dark.

Nominations for the two new board members will be taken from the floor at the September 8, meeting and voted on at the October 14 meeting. There is no requirements for the job except a willingness to work. Whoever gets the most votes will win the positions.

The only change to the draw events was to allow adult/child or male/female teams not to draw. This was to encourage more participation in the events. Seems to have worked and did no apparant harm to anyone.

The original schedule was made by one person, me, and the entire board decided to change it. Perhaps we should'nt have but that water is long since passed under the bridge. It's a learning year and we are learning.

Keep the suggestions and comments coming. they are interesting so far.

I agree with Jerry, the problem with Lavon was the schedule, not the lake and March at Lewisville was not much better. We were so eager to get started that we scheduled tournaments to early in the year, but the conditions were the same for all so it was still fair.

Members should be able to vote on lakes where tournaments are being held. Example: (6) to be decided by all members and (2) to be decided by board members only. Of the lakes I fished this year ...I like Lewisville, CC, RC, RR and would like to see Texoma, LOP, and one from the south region for next year schedule.

While I'm at it ...I would like to win the lotto too smile
