I had someone tell me to use a lemon rig at the Port A jetties. Seems it is not supposed to get hung so bad. Apparently, you use one of those empty squeeze bottles that looks like a lemon. Rig with a three way swivel. I never could figure it out. Tried one and guess what, I lost it first time I threw it out. I've saved a couple more in case someone can tell me how to build and use one correctly.

I didn't create it. Save it and put it in a Rig Folder on your computer, that's what I do.

do not "fill" the bottle with water, you may add some to help in casting but no more than 1/3 full. split shot can be added to the line leading to the hook or a sliding weight can be added to the main line.

I use to use that rig a long time ago around the gas wells in Corpus bay. For weight, put BB's in the lemon. The rattle from the BB's help it be more effective.

Is there any special knot you use to tie to the lemon bottle ? Where exactly is the best place to tie at on the bottle ?

unscrew the cap and pop out the lil white squirter thing. tie the line to it and then put it back in. screw cap on...
i like adding a good 5-8 small split shots in the lemon to get a good rattle and i always use a 1/4 ounce egg weight on the lemon line.
also a nifty thing i learned is bfore you begin reeling in the rig pull out most of the line slack and pick you rod tip up and high as you can and begin reeling. This prevents the rig from "dragging" in the water before it breaks the surface

You'll have very few tangles with this rig if you use the 3 way swivel. Believe me I've used it a lot.
